Bertie Bus is a specially constructed 15-seater bus with a lift to enable wheelchairs and less mobile passengers easy access. Bertie also has plenty of headroom and comfortable seating. The bus operates on most weekdays taking various groups on social or shopping outings.
Bertie Bus is run solely by volunteers. While all volunteers enjoy socialising and chatting with passengers.
Passenger Assistants
Many of our passengers have various types of mobility issues and may require assistance with boarding the bus and fastening seatbelts. Some have other age-related issues. Our passenger assistants offer the support and reassurance needed to ensure the passengers are safe, comfortable and enjoy the outing as much as possible. If you would like to help our passengers on one or two weekday afternoons per month or would like further information, please email info@bertiebus.org.uk.
